The Chhattisgarh government on Wednesday transferred and assigned new responsibilities to 43 IAS officers in a major bureaucratic reshuffle. The changes affected several key departments as well as district administrations across the state. The transfer order was issued with immediate effect by the General Administration Department.

Among the major changes, senior IAS officer Richa Sharma was shifted from the Forest and Climate Change Department and posted as Additional Chief Secretary, Panchayat and Rural Development Department. She has also been given the additional charge of Director General of the Thakur Pyarelal State Institute of Panchayat and Rural Development and Development Commissioner.

Manoj Kumar Pingua, who was serving in the Home Department, has been moved as Additional Chief Secretary, Forest and Climate Change Department. Senior IAS officer Subodh Kumar Singh and Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai have been given additional charge of the Energy Department and Chairman of the Chhattisgarh State Power Companies.

In another important posting, Rohit Yadav was appointed Secretary in the Finance Department. He will continue to hold charge of the Public Relations Department and the Pension Redressal Committee. Mukesh Bansal has been shifted to the Public Works Department, while Avinash Champawat has been posted to the Higher Education Department.

Bijapur Collector Sambit Mishra has been appointed Commissioner of Raipur Municipal Corporation, while Raipur Municipal Commissioner Vishwadeep has been posted as the new Collector of Bijapur. Surajpur Collector S. Jayvardhan has been moved as Director, Treasury and Accounts, and IAS officer Rena Jamil has been posted as the new Collector of Surajpur.

Changes were also made in departments linked to tribal welfare, cooperation, tourism, culture and education. Several officers have been assigned additional responsibilities in infrastructure projects, state missions and welfare boards.
